Auditions

Musica Sacra Cantorum is a selective group of talented singers chosen through audition. Our Artistic Director is authorized by the MSC Board of Directors to audition and select ensemble members each season. The audition consists of four parts:

An song in any language,
A sight reading excerpt,
A pitch accuracy evaluation,
A range vocalization.

Re-auditions

All singers are expected to re-audition each year. Preparation and scheduling for a re-audition is the same as for an initial audition. Please click the link below to schedule your re-audition.

Rehearsals

We rehearse on Monday evenings 7 - 9.30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota, Sarasota, FL. Rehearsal periods are compact, with an average of seven rehearsals between performances. Therefore, attendance at rehearsals is essential, not only for personal advancement, but to support the ensemble as well.

Dress rehearsals typically take place at the concert venue.

Concerts

Four concerts are scheduled each season: October, December, February and April. Concerts are presented in venues throughout the Sarasota/Manatee region. Performances usually take place on Monday, Friday or Saturday evenings at 7.30 p.m.; however, other days and times may be scheduled as the situation dictates.
